Museum on the move is suitable for primary, secondary and third level students. The lecturers are pitched at different levels to suit the age groups of the students in attendance.

Junior & Senior infants, we teach them about our past through the medium of fairy tales eg. Goldilocks and the three bears, Little Red Riding Hood & the wolf and we build up to the star of our show Santa's reindeer. The junior lectures last about 40 minutes and at the end of the show, the students get to interact and pet a lot of the animals under supervision.

The lectures change throughout the day until we are with 5th and 6th classes where we are talking about radiocarbon dating fossil bones and showing how the native animals got here over the land bridges at the end of the last ice age. This lecture takes at least one hour to complete.

In primary schools, our story begins 50,000 years ago with the woolly mammoth from there we work our way through time and finish up in the 1950s with the introduction of the American mink to our shores. For secondary or third level colleges our story begins 385 million years ago with the valentia island theropod trackway and this lecture takes 2 hours to complete.

At the end of the school day, we need at least one hour to dismantle our Museum and vacate your premises.

On the day of your booking,      we like to arrive at least one hour before the school day begins. We like to get the roadshow trailer right up to the gym assembly area doors and have the Natural History Museum in place by the first bell. Classes attend the natural history of Ireland Roadshow lectures throughout the day.
